Athena raises her sword over head, near tears.
Xena yells and stabs Athena in the stomach. Athena drops her sword.
Ares has healed both Eve and Gabrielle.
Athena grabs her bleeding wound.
Ares backs up from Eve and Gabrielle.
Xena pulls out her sword. Ares stands and takes off the chains.
Ares: I gave up my immortality to save them.
Athena: Why?
Ares: I’m sorry, but I got a thing for her.
Athena falls and dies.
The palace shakes.
Xena: Hey!
Ares looks at Athena. Xena looks lovingly at Gabrielle and hugs Eve. She stands and faces Ares.
Xena: Thank you.
Ares nods.
